Improvements are coming to the Beloit Rest Area and Wisconsin Welcome Center on the Interstate northbound. The Department of Transportation is planning a repaving and parking lot expansion project. Spokesman Steve Theisen says 22 additional truck stalls are planned. Theisen says this will improve highway safety by limiting the need for truckers to park along the road or on ramps to meet their legally required rest time. The rest area will be closed from Monday August 3rd through late October.
