The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two young Beloit men. Officials says the 22 and 23-year-olds were swimming in a small pond off of South Indian Lake Drive in Rock township around 2:00 p.m. Saturday when witnesses say they both went under the water in distress. A third swimmer was able to make it back to shore. First responders used paddle boats to reach the victims and attempted to revive them at the scene, but they were later pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials say preliminary evidence and witness statements indicate this was an accident.
