UPDATE: The Silver Alert was cancelled as of 11:00 p.m. Monday night after Lynch was located safe.

The Green County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance with locating a missing senior citizen.

Police issued a Silver Alert for 73-year-old Thomas J. Lynch, who resides in rural Browntown and was at a recent family function in Janesville.

The sheriff’s office said he left his home Monday morning at around 11:30 to run errands and did not return.

He frequents South Wayne, Wisconsin in Lafayette County and Winslow, Illinois in Stephenson County, but police do not know which direction he might have traveled.

Lynch is listed as 5-foot-10, 180 pounds with short grey hair and a full goatee. He is also missing the index finger on his right hand.

Police are looking for his black 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck with damage at the right rear taillight and the Wisconsin license plate FQ3319.
