A Beloit man faces a handful of felony charges in connection with a shooting that left one man injured late last month.

35-year-old Louis Kimball is charged in Rock County Court with four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Beloit police investigated a report of shots fired following a fight between 15-to-20 people in the area of Summit Park on July 31.

Witnesses identified Kimball pulling out a firearm and shooting multiple times at a man later identified as the brother of a woman Kimball had children with.

The criminal complaint said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back and was taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital

Police say Kimball’s bullets also struck a house and an occupied vehicle in the area.

He made his initial court appearance this week and is being held on a $16,000 cash bond.
