The suspect in a Beloit shooting from May is in custody at the Rock County Jail after a court commissioner set a $100,000 cash bond.

25-year-old Isaiah Evans was arrested last week in the Wausau area following a high-speed chase. He was wanted by police for months and was considered armed and dangerous.

He’s charged in Rock County Court with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, possession of a firearm by a felon and three counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Police say he exchanged gunfire with 38-year-old Denzen Jones in the 1200 block of Keeler Avenue on May 16.

Multiple homes were struck by bullets, and Jones suffered gunshot wounds to the leg. He was also charged in the incident with possession of a firearm by a felon and felony bail jumping.

Evans next court appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 28.
