The Beloit Police and Fire Commission names Police Inspector Thomas Stigler as interim chief for the Beloit Police Department.

The decision follows the resignation last week of Chief David Zibolski in order to take the job as chief of the Fargo, North Dakota Police Department.

Stigler joined the department in March of 2018 as a captain. He previously worked his way through the ranks at the Milwaukee Police Department until his retirement as an inspector. inspector is the second-highest rank in the City of Beloit Police Department.

The City has hired GovHR to aid in the search process for a new chief.
