covid-testing

Local health officials are pleased the National Guard is planning to offer free COVID-19 testing in Janesville the week of October 12th. With the number of cases increasing, Rock County Public Health Nurse Felicia Martinez calls it good timing. Martinez says a shortage of supplies has made it difficult for some residents to get tested. She says testing can help prevent the spread of the disease. Anyone with symptoms, or recently in close contact with someone confirmed to have the virus, is encouraged to get tested. Martinez also urges anyone testing positive to immediately tell everyone they’d had recent contact. Free testing will run Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. til 7:00 p.m. at the Dawson Softball Complex. Participants are encouraged to pre-register on-line at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov/en-US/
