The School District of Milton has a new virtual learning program for the nearly-post-pandemic school year.

School board member Shelly Crull-Hanke updated the full board Monday night on this year’s Milton Wired program, open for students grades 7 through 12.

Participants will still have to complete the same credit requirements as in-person students, and they can also participate in extra-curricular activities and sports.

Much of the core curriculum will be done by Milton staff with a teacher overseeing the program, but the learning is done at the student’s own pace.

The district will screen students who apply to make sure there aren’t any concerns about the student keeping up with their virtual learning.

The deadline to apply for the first trimester is August 15.
