A local homeless shelter that serves men is making emergency overnight shelter available when the weather gets extremely cold.

GIFTS Executive Director Maryann Raasch says there is space for up to four men in the lobby area.

Those seeking shelter will need to arrive in time to check in between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m., and will need to submit to a breathalyzer.

Raasch says GIFTS can offer the possibility of a longer-term stay by following the regular application process.
