An employee at Cedar Crest in Janesville tests positive for COVID-19.

The senior-living facility announced the case Wednesday afternoon and said no residents have tested positive so far.

CEO David Tanck said the employee is in quarantine at home, and he’s working to have all of their residents and staff members in their main campus tested for the coronavirus.

“We are taking every step as recommended by authorities to contain the spread,” Tanck said in a statement. “We want to make residents, their families, our dedicated staff, and our community aware of this situation and reassure everyone that we are on top of the situation.”

Cedar Crest was already requiring employees to wear masks at all times and limiting the number of people in any one area.

Tanck said they also increased the frequency of cleaning done in their facilities, and they’re following guidelines from the Rock County Public Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control.
