Criticism that the additional federal unemployment payments are so high some people won’t be willing to return to work appears to ring hollow for a local legislator. Mark Spreitzer of Beloit agrees the checks might benefit some workers on the lower end of the pay scale, but the payments run out at the end of July. The Democrat adds, anyone collecting unemployment must return to work if called back, or lose their benefits. He also says those in most need of the additional money will likely reintroduce those dollars into the local economy.
