Janesville police arrest the suspect in last weekend’s shooting near Lincoln Elementary School.

Police had a heavy presence in Janesville’s Fourth Ward neighborhood Thursday evening, and Sergeant Jennifer Wehmas confirmed that officers arrested 17-year-old Kenan Clemons and a second suspect.

Clemons was wanted for attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting of 36-year-old Trenton Strommen of Janesville in the 1900 block of Conde Street.

Clemons and the other suspect were accused of stealing a bicycle in the 700 block of Roosevelt Avenue prior to the shooting and then stealing Strommen’s vehicle after the shooting.

Strommen was treated for life-threatening injuries, but his family says he is in stable condition and recovering.

This story will be updated with more information on the arrest from Janesville police.
