Rock County employees working at the sheriff’s office, Rock Haven nursing home, and Youth Services Center will be getting a one-time hazard pay bonus of $500. County Board members approved the measure Thursday night on a vote of 17-to-12. Some members say COVID-19 has made these stressful times and the payment is a token of appreciation. Others argue these are tough economic times for residents and the county should keep the money to deal with anticipated revenue shortfalls. The move will cost the county $225,500.
