A local college is standing behind its international students. Beloit College is condemning an Immigration and Customs Enforcement ruling requiring international students to take at least one in-person class or leave the United States. Beloit College President Scott Bierman says, in the midst of a global pandemic, flexibility is needed to ensure individual and community health. Bierman says the ICE ruling leaves Beloit College needlessly faced with decisions that compromise the quality of education. Bierman pledges the school will support its international students in every way possible, even if that means developing a hybrid approach which will allow for sufficient in-person classes to enable international students to comply with the new guidance.
