A Janesville police chase with an ATV ends after the driver crashes the Fourth Ward.

Sergeant Jimmy Holford first observed 31-year-old Jordan Bonner-Nelson driving the four-wheeler in the area near East Milwaukee Street and South Franklin Street, where he attempted a traffic stop.

Holford reported Bonner-Nelson making multiple evasive turns before crashing into a tree in the 500 block of West Holmes Street.

The driver took off on foot and was arrested soon after in the 200 block of Cherry Street.

Investigators later determined the ATV had been stolen in Janesville several weeks ago, adding a charge of operating a vehicle without owner consent to Bonner-Nelson’s arrest for fleeing/eluding an officer.

Police said he was on probation with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and had several open felony cases on deferred sentencing for drug-related charges.
