A local community wants to get ahead of any problems arising from the placement of political signs. The city of Beloit is reminding residents signs can only be displayed on private and not government property and that includes the terrace. Signs must be no larger than 32 square feet and placed at least 10 feet from property lines. Beloit police add destroying or removing campaign signs from property other than your own is illegal, and unlawful signs may be confiscated and-or result in a municipal citation. Beloit Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Millard says one goal of the reminder is to help keep this November’s election civil.
