HealthNet of Rock County renames its downtown Janesville clinic after its former medical advisor Dr. Rex Kolste, who died unexpectedly in April.
The husband of State Representative Deb Kolste supervised the clinic’s clinical functions and medication distribution for almost 15 years.
HealthNet CEO Ian Hedges said Dr. Kolste reflected the values of the organization and is being honored with a plaque at the clinic.
“Our Board of Directors and senior management team unanimously felt it was imperative to name our clinic after a man who donated thousands of hours in patient care to our organization,” Hedges said in a news release. “He always delivered medical care with kindness, understanding, and thoroughness. This new clinic name is a reflection of our desire to continue delivering services in that manner.”
The low-income health care provider is working toward expanding its services and moving to a new location through its partnership with Blackhawk Community Credit Union.
The naming of the Dr. Rex Kolste Medical Clinic is intended to honor the non-profit’s past as it moves forward.
