UW-Whitewater Chancellor Dwight Watson is on paid administrative leave following a formal complaint.
UW System President Tommy Thompson announced the decision Thursday morning and said they will have no further comment on the investigation.
Watson was present for the groundbreaking of The Lincoln Academy in Beloit on Wednesday as a representative of UW-Whitewater.
He started as chancellor in August of 2019. His move to administrative leave comes one day after classes began on the Whitewater campus.
Watson replaced former chancellor Beverly Kopper, who stepped down after the school investigated sexual harassment complaints on campus against her husband.
The school will be led by Provost Greg Cook in Watson’s absence.
