An Orfordville man is headed to prison for a hit and run from July of 2019.

30-year-old Luke Kasten pleaded guilty to hit and run causing great bodily harm, and Rock County Judge Karl Hanson sentenced him Wednesday to two years in prison followed by two years of extended supervision.

Kasten hit another Orfordville man with his vehicle following an altercation at Knute’s Bar and Grill last summer.

The victim suffered a skull fracture and has long-term damage still limiting him more than a year later.

Assistant District Attorney Mary Bricco said the charges could have been much less severe had Kasten not fled the scene and hid his vehicle.

Kasten wiped tears from his eyes as he apologized in court and said he’s haunted by his actions on that day.
