President Donald Trump will be stopping by Janesville on Saturday for a campaign event.
He was originally scheduled to speak that afternoon in La Crosse, but his campaign announced Thursday afternoon he will come to Janesville instead.
Governor Tony Evers and La Crosse mayor Tim Kabat had asked Trump not to come speak due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state.
His Janesville event will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport. His campaign plans to hold another event later that day in Green Bay starting at 6:00.
The president’s visit to Janesville comes less than a month after Vice President Mike Pence spoke at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center for a campaign event.
