Blackhawk Technical College’s $32 million referendum on the November ballot is only expected to raise the taxes of a $100,000 by about three bucks.
President Tracy Pierner says the money would go towards a sorely needed public safety and transportation training center.
The center would be built on a 35 acre parcel of land the college purchased two years ago, immediately north of campus on Highway G.
Pierner says if the referendum passes, BTC will sell a facility on the northside of Janesville currently used as the college’s Center for Transportation Studies.
