The Janesville City Council puts the kibosh on the hybrid meeting format that allowed some members to participate from home and others in-person.

Assistant to the City Manager Maggie Darr says starting Monday the City Council will use Microsoft Teams to hold their meeting and they will all participate virtually.

Citizens who come to City Hall to make a pubic comment will do so at a computer. They’ll then have the option to view the rest of the meeting from a socially-distanced location at City Hall.

Citizens can also still submit comments in writing in advance of the meetings.

Darr says technological issues were making it difficult for some people to participate in person while others tuned in remotely.
