Rock County Health Officer Marie-Noel Sandoval announced Monday morning high community spread of COVID-19, rapid increases in the number of people testing positive, and rising numbers of hospitalizations and deaths are all factors leading to the decision. Sandoval says during October, more positive COVID-19 cases were reported than in all of the previous months of the pandemic. She also warns hospital resources and staffing levels are becoming extremely limited. County officials urge all residents to follow the recommendations which include avoiding gatherings of any size outside members of the same living unit, limiting capacity to 25-percent for professional and religious settings, and limiting outdoor events to ten people or less.
