An argument over profanity leads to Beloit’s second homicide of 2020.

Captain Andre Sayles with the Beloit Police Department said that type of language was not allowed in the house on the 1000 block of 10th Street where a 50-year-old Beloit man was shot and killed Monday morning.

Multiple witnesses in the home identified 34-year-old Mario Tucker as the shooter, and officers found and arrested him less than an hour and a half later near the Portland Avenue bridge.

Officers watched Tucker throw an object into the Rock River, which police spent hours trying to recover from the water.

Sayles said Tucker had been living in the same residence as the victim for less than a week before the shooting. He had previously lived in Janesville and parts of Minnesota.
