With winter setting in, it’s important to keep an eye on your water pipes.
Beloit Director of Water Resources Bill Frisbee says it’s never to early to take precautions to avoid frozen water pipes.
Frisbee says you should feel your pipes especially in areas near exterior walls and with cold drafts. If you do find a type that’s particularly cold it can be wrapped in insulation.
Frisbee says if you do find a frozen pipe it’s best to thaw it out with a hair dryer because any sort of open flame could cause the pipe to burst.
