Beloit Police are releasing the name of the driver accused of hitting and killing a 24-year-old town of Beloit man who was changing a tire.

27-year-old Alexa R. Simpson of Beloit was taken into custody of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle Sunday night following the crash on the west side.

According to a Facebook post, the victim was changing a tire when another vehicle pulled up from behind to help.

Simpson is accused of striking the second vehicle and pinning the victim between the two cars.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital.
