The annual effort to take veterans to see monuments in their honor at the nation’s capital will have to skip a year. VetsRoll organizer Mark Finnegan calls it a difficult decision, but the risk for these aging veterans, many in their 90’s, is too great. Finnegan says COVID-19 poses to much of a threat for a trip requiring travel for 400 people, 700 hotel rooms, and five-thousand meals, as well as a convoy through seven states and the nation’s capital. He says he’s is encouraged by the upcoming availability of a vaccine, and is already planning for VetsRoll to return in May of 2022.
