denim-day

Family Services of Southern Wisconsin is encouraging everyone to wear denim Wednesday in a show of solidarity for sexual assault survivors.  Denim Day began in the late 90’s after a sexual assault conviction was overturned in Italy, because the judge believed the victim’s jeans were too tight to be removed without consent.  Family Services advocate Stephanie Hormig says many misconceptions about sexual assault persist to this day, and she wants victims to know they are believed, and services are available.
