One man is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a drive-by shooting Friday morning in the town of Turtle.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a report of shots fired on the 1800 block of Milwaukee Road near the bridge over the Turtle Creek flood plain shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Investigation determined two vehicles were traveling westbound on Milwaukee Road when a dark colored sedan, which police believe was occupied by two men, pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle. The men then fired multiple rounds into the victim’s car before continuing westbound on Milwaukee Road into Beloit.

The victim, a 31-year-old man from Beloit, turned around and came to a stop at Leeson Park Road and dialed 911. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials recovered multiple shell casings from a handgun at the scene.

Rock County Sheriff’s Office officials said they believe the shooting was targeted.
