The workers at Hufcor in Janesville are not going down without a fight.

Union representatives plan to bargain with the manufacturer over its plan to close the local production facility and shift operations to Mexico.

The Industrial Division of the Communication Workers of America Local 84811 is planning a rally Thursday to stand behind the workers, and other labor groups like the UAW Local 95 plan to join in solidarity.

Union president Tom Casey said they have reached out to local and state politicians for support, including Governor Tony Evers.

Hufcor has operated in Janesville nearly 120 years, and the closing could affect as many as 200 jobs.

The rally will start at Noon outside of the manufacturing facility on Kennedy Road.
