A broadband company is looking to expand service through much of rural Rock County.
Bug Tussel Wireless President and CEO Steve Schneider presented the Rock County Board with an over 10-million-dollar proposal Thursday night to build nine towers and add over 90 miles of fiber.
Schneider said they are currently building out projects in Iowa and Green counties, and the Rock County project would connect those with their Dane County infrastructure.
This layout would extend from Edgerton through the towns of Fulton, Magnolia and Newark. It would loop around through Lima Center, Johnstown and Clinton.
Bug Tussel is looking to fund the project through bonds or a loan of American Rescue Plan Act funding as part of a potential partnership with Rock County.
