
The City of Janesville’s fire chief resigns two-and-a-half years after being hired.
According to a news release from the City of Janesville, Ernie Rhodes last day is August 18th.
The Janesville City Manager’s Office says, as the Incident Commander for the City of Janesville’s COVID-19 response, Rhodes’ leadership was critical in guiding the community through an unprecedented public health crisis. Chief Rhodes’ expertise ensured the City’s Emergency Operations Center was equipped with the information and resources needed to help Janesville combat COVID-19 and keep our community healthy.
The Police and Fire Commission has the hiring authority for the position of Fire Chief. The Commission will be meeting (Tuesday), and has added Chief Rhodes’ resignation and the appointment of an Interim Fire Chief to their agenda.
