new-janesville-townhouses

The Janesville Plan Commission green lights a proposal for two four-unit town house buildings at 1840 Layfayette Street despite the fact that the lot is less than half the minimum size for a planned unit development.

Building Director Tom Clippert says the subject property is an undeveloped vacant lot and the City is in sore need of housing.

The subject property has businesses neighboring it from the south, west, and north, and multi family housing and businesses to the east.

Clippert says each of the two buildings will contain four, two-story town houses with attached garages.

The City Council still needs to approve the rezoning request before the project can move forward.
