A plea deal is reached in an almost two-year-old Janesville shooting case. 44-year-old Nova Rickelmann had been charged with Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide in the drive-by shooting of her estranged husband. In October of 2019, he’d told officers he was at an ATM on Center Avenue when a silver van approached and he was hit by gunfire. Rickelmann pleaded guilty in Rock County Court Tuesday to a reduced charge of First Degree Reckless Injury as a Domestic Abuse Incident Using a Dangerous Weapon. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors have agreed not to argue for more than ten-years of jail time. Sentencing is set for October 29th.
