The Rock County Historical Society is collecting memories from anyone associated with General Motors, Fisher Body, or the UAW in Janesville.  The Historical Society and Blackhawk Community Credit Union are partnering in developing Rock County Legacies, formerly known as the Legacy Center.  RCHS Executive Director Tim Maahs says currently artifacts collected by BHCCU are being catalogued and living history stories recorded.  Maahs says BHCCU was founded within the walls of the GM plant 56-years ago, and has a vast collection of artifacts deserving of preservation.  He says efforts are being made to ensure everything is honored properly and will later be added to yet to be determined exhibits.  Plans for the actual exhibit or presentation are in their early stages, and Maahs admits it could be two-or-more years before the vision is fully realized.
