A 46-year-old Janesville man is facing a number of charges after police say he stole a car and began following an Amazon truck, attempting to steal packages after they were delivered.  Janesville police say they attempted to stop the suspect vehicle about noon Wednesday, but had to discontinue the chase over safety concerns.  Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, police say they tracked the vehicle to South Main and East Racine Streets where they were able to make a stop and arrest Patrick Ryan without further incident.  Police say a search of the vehicle found a number of stolen items from various victims.  Ryan was arrested on charges including Operating While Intoxicated, Fleeing an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owners Consent and Receiving Stolen Property. Police add, Ryan had been in jail since May, having been arrested on similar charges.  He was released on probation just last Friday.
