A Janesville senior citizen is found safe in Oshkosh thanks to a vigilant neighbor.

Janesville police say officers were called to a residence on the 2200 block of South Hawthorne Park Drive around 10:00 Wednesday night to check the welfare of an 85-year-old man.

A neighbor told police he always return home by 5:00 p.m., that he is experiencing early signs of dementia, and has been known to get lost.

Officers used On Star to contact the man, who was lost in Oshkosh and had him pull over until police in Oshkosh could assist.

Oshkosh police helped secure a hotel room for the man until his daughter could come up and retrieve him and the vehicle.
