Pregnant women are being encouraged to get vaccinated for COVID-19.  Health Department Educator Michael Niles says the CDC recommendations are based on new evidence of the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.  Niles says pregnancy increases the risk of severe COVID illness.  He adds pregnant women are requiring more critical care, including ventilation, than the general population.
