A 25-year-old man is under arrest, accused of firing off a gun into an occupied vehicle in the City of Milton.

Milton Police say officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting on Parkview Drive near the YMCA just after 7:30 p.m. last Friday.

Investigation determined that a woman’s car broke down so she called two family members, including Nathan A. Baumeister to help.

Baumeister was in the process of helping to tow the disabled vehicle when the driver hit the breaks at the wrong time and angered him.

Baumeister is accused of pulling a gun from his waistband, pointing it at the driver of the disabled vehicle, and then firing a round off into her backseat.

Baumeister was transported to the Rock County Jail and has been formally charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, operating a firearm while intoxicated, and disorderly conduct while armed.
