The rate of COVID-19 transmission is slowing down slightly in Rock County.

Public Health Department Epidemiologist Nick Zupan provided an update to members of the media Thursday.

Rock County is averaging about 38 new cases of COVID-19 per day.

Zupan says that’s still considered high according to CDC guidelines.

Zupan says currently there are about 550 active cases and a total of 192 deaths due to COVID-19 in Rock County.

Zupan says so far 54% of Rock County residents have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, and 50% are fully vaccinated.
