The trend of women outpacing men in college enrollment isn’t new.
Blackhawk Technical College President Tracy Pierner says the issue has been prevalent for half a century.
Pierner says the gap starts in high school where in Wisconsin 82 percent of boys graduate while 90 percent of girls graduate.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, women will make up more than 56 percent of students on college campuses nationwide this fall.
