Beloit Police are investigating a threat of violence against a community service officer.

According to a Facebook post the community service officer was driving south on Prairie Avenue near Switch Track Alley just before 8:00 Sunday evening when he observed a vehicle driving slowly northbound.

When the two vehicles passed, a passenger in the suspect vehicle pointed a gun at the officer.

Beloit Police say this was an unprovoked act against an officer who serves the community by primarily handling animal calls and assisting with traffic control.

Beloit Police are asking anyone who has information about the incident to contact them.
