The Beloit School District is working to ease community concerns after an alleged incident involving a child in the classroom was widely shared on social media. District officials say the allegations were investigated along with the police department and no violation of state law for found. Media posts had claimed a teacher was upset with an 8th grade student for not properly wearing their mask, and secured it by wrapping tape around the student’s head. Following these allegations, administration and staff at the school have been receiving threats from unknown individuals and organizations. Officials add the district has zero tolerance for hate speech and violence, and is now working with the police department to investigate threats against members of the staff.
