A 36-year-old Beloit man is sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years of extended supervision for breaking into a stranger’s home and sexually assaulting her.
According to online court records Derrell Riley pleaded guilty in July to a single count of second degree sexual assault by use of force. As part of a plea agreement, additional charges of burglary and resisting an officer were dismissed but read into the record.
According to the criminal complaint, in August of 2020, Riley broke into a home in the 200 block of Adams Street around 3:30 in the morning and raped the woman who lived there.
Beloit Police responded to the woman’s security alarm and observed Riley flee the home.
