The Janesville Plan Commission gives the owner of The Crafty Bee Studio permission to continue operating a business at a property on East Memorial Drive that’s been zoned residential since the 1980’s.
The Crafty Bee Studio plans to operate primarily as a classroom with up to 10 students per class.
Planning Director Duane Cherek says the property was most recently used as a small contractor’s shop by Quigley-Smart Inc.
Cherek says the only condition is that a shared parking easement with the business next door needs to be drafted and recorded.
The Janesville Plan Commission approved a substitution of the nonconforming use for the Crafty Bee Studio in a unanimous vote Monday night.
