A pool of money created by the state, with American Rescue Plan Act funding, may help the Beloit Historical Society catch up with long-overdue repairs. The city of Beloit plan to apply for a two-point-two million dollar grant through the Neighborhood Investment Fund Program. The program provides funding to help neighborhoods recover from the negative effects of COVID-19. Historical Society Director Donna Langford says the pandemic has had a detrimental impact on both fundraising and volunteerism. Langford says the money would be used to replace the aging roof and crumbling parking lot at the historical society’s Lincoln Center headquarters, as well as other important renovations.
