A 34-year-old Janesville man is under arrest following a domestic dispute in the parking lot of an apartment complex that resulted in an officer being injured.

Janesville Police say officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the River Flats Apartments on North Jackson Street to investigate a domestic disturbance occurring inside a vehicle just before 10:00 Sunday morning.

After speaking to the occupants officers attempted to take Ryan C. Montcalm into custody for suffocation/strangulation, however he began fighting which them.

Montcalm and the officers all went to the ground and pepper spray was used.

Janesville Police say Montcalm remained uncontrollable until more officers arrived.

One officer received a back injury during the fight and was transported to the hospital.

Montcalm was eventually arrested for suffocation/strangulation domestic violence, resisting an officer, bail jumping, and causing substantial injury to an officer.
