More and more local families are facing the challenge of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. Rock County Council on Aging Caregiver Family Support Specialist Teena Monk-Gerber says the numbers are on the rise. Monk-Gerber says Wisconsin currently has more than 120,000 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and the number is expected to triple over the next 20-years. To help caregivers cope, the Council on Aging is planning a free appreciation event next week Thursday. Pre-registration is required.
