Janesville and Beloit appear to be bouncing back from the devastating impact of the pandemic on visitor spending.  Local tourism leaders say visitor spending was down as much as 50% during some periods of 2020.  Now, Visit Beloit CEO Celestino Ruffini says 2021 is on a record pace.  Janesville Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Executive Director Christine Rebout says room taxes in September returned to levels not seen since September of 2019.  Rebout and Ruffini both say demand for leisure travel is driving the trend.
