The Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is awarded $167,000 as part of $15 million in Destination Marketing Organization grants doled out last week by Governor Tony Evers.

Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Christine Rebout says the money will be important for solidifying the 2022 budget.

Rebout says room tax was down about 40 percent in 2021 and that will have a big impact on next year’s budget.

Visit Beloit received a similar grant of $257,000.
